Are you looking to increase the volume and size of your lips? According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 27,000 lip augmentation procedures were performed in the year of 2016. This number has continued to grow over the years as lip fillers become more and more popular. At Pure Skin, we are proud to have a staff of licensed, experienced
injectable providers who can safely administer lip fillers to any clients wishing to enhance their lips.
Lip fillers, otherwise known as lip augmentation, is when a medical professional injects a substance containing hyaluronic acid into a client’s lips. The effects of these lip fillers typically remain for about six months, which means that in order for clients to keep the same shape and volume from the fillers, they must continue to get fillers. At Pure Skin, we utilize all types of Juvederm Restylane fillers.
The main function of lip fillers is to have naturally fuller lips. However, there are a number of other notable benefits to lip fillers as well, including:
Greater self-confidence
More symmetrical lips
Anti-aging appearance
The lip filler process is quick, yet extremely effective. At Pure Skin, we believe in speaking with each of our clients prior to any service they are receiving so that they can understand the process, ask questions, and voice any concerns. The following outlines each step of the lip filler process:
Assessment. One of our trained medical providers will assess the client’s lips, and take a look at overall symmetry, balance, etc.
Discussion. The professional will then inform the client about the procedure, and ask if the client has any questions or concerns before beginning. One of our main priorities is to ensure that our clients feel comfortable before starting any procedures.
Numbing. The medical provider will put a numbing cream on your lips. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes for this cream to work.
Injection. Based on the initial assessment, the medical provider will inject the lip fillers in the appropriate areas of your lips. The whole service takes about 15 minutes, but could take more time depending how many areas of the lip must be injected.
Post-injection. The medical provider will then inform you about what to do following the procedure. Typically, we suggest that people do not kiss or massage lips for 24 hours after their first lip filler injection.
Lip fillers can cost $400 to $2,000. This depends on the particular filler used, your overall goals, how many vials/syringes, etc.
Lip fillers can last 6 months to a year. However, this depends on the particular filler used and other determining factors. It is best to ask your medical provider/nurse practitioner how long they estimate your lip fillers will last.

According to the FDA, pregnant women should not get lip fillers because of their constantly fluctuating hormones. If you are pregnant and looking to start or continue getting lip fillers, contact one of our medical providers/nurse practitioners to discuss safe options. Our goal is to keep you AND your baby safe!
An ideal candidate for lip fillers is any individual who is over the age of 18 years old, has decent overall health, and who doesn't smoke. We also believe our clients should demonstrate a commitment to caring for their skin.
Similar to a shot or any other intervention that involves needles, lip fillers are not painless. We tell all clients to expect a slight pinch and mild discomfort, but that the pain is by no means unbearable.
Lip fillers are considered a semi-permanent intervention. This is because they last approximately six months to a year, but clients must continually come to get fillers again to maintain the same great results.
Lip fillers are approved by the FDA. However, these fillers must be administered by a licensed, medical provider or nurse practitioner in order to be considered "safe".
The use of cigarettes during lip filler treatment has been shown to increase your risk for infection. The smoking process also causes your lips to pucker, which can apply pressure on the sensitive tissue and be painful after injections.
